After a much-needed bye week, the Homewood Patriots travel to Chilton County with a playoff berth on the line.

In week 6, Homewood [4-2, 3-0, 1st in 6A R3] fell to Pinson Valley 13-21 at home. It took the Patriots three quarters to muster a touchdown, and once the offense finally gained momentum it was too late. Despite the heartbreaking loss, the Patriots have nothing to hang their heads about, sitting at 4-2 overall, and 3-0 in regional play, a win tonight would extend The Patriots’ playoff streak to 10.

The Chilton County Tigers are currently sitting at 3-4 and 0-4 in regional play. Rashard Childers leads this Chilton County team, averaging over 100 yards per game on the ground along with 9 touchdowns over the entire season. Defensive back Jakobe Worthy is tied for second in the state in overall interceptions (6). Despite the sub-.500 record, Chilton County is a strong team.

The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. Homewood is a 17-point favorite.
